New WhatsApp feature: How to use the OR code to get more contacts on WhatsApp

Over the years, it has been a tradition on WhatsApp to get contact to WhatsApp through phone/mobile numbers. However, since early this year, there is an additional feature added to it.— use of WhatsApp barcode (OR CODE) . Do not be anxious on how to use this. This article will show you all the steps you need to know in other to give out your phone number in form of a barcode and access a contact with his/her  barcode (OR CODE)

What is the OR CODE on WhatsApp used for?

Put simply, the OR CODE on WhatsApp is used to get a contact to your WhatsApp or send someone your phone number in form of a code to access it onWhatsApp.

How to use the OR CODE on WhatsApp

  1. Open your WhatsApp app by tapping the icon on your mobile phone or PC.
  2. Click on the top right icon on your WhatsApp first homepage. A list of options will pop out.

  3. Click on settings. On the top right side, you'll find a OR code sign immediately after your WhatsApp name. Click on it. That OR code there is your own account code. You can screenshot it and send it to someone who you'll want to contact you on WhatsApp.


  4. By the side , you'll find "SCAN CODE". Click on it. On the left down part, you'll find a gallery sign. Click on it and find the screenshoted code sent to you. Click on the image, it will automatically appear in the scan  and after processing, it would show you the account with that code. Click on the account. The person is now part of your phone's contact on WhatsApp.
